2008 Panthers Ironman Port Macquarie
For the second year in a row, Crocs was an official sponsor of the 2008 Panthers Ironman Port Macquarie. The Panthers Ironman draws approximately 1,800 competitors, of ages 18 - 75, competing from over 30 countries and every State and Territory in Australia. Competitors must complete a 3.8km swim, 180.2km bike and a 42.2km run. 2,000 volunteers and approx 6,000 spectators come to Port Macquarie to be a part of such a competitive event. Crocs had banners placed throughout the event on race day (finishers chute, transition areas, at Carbo loading night party). Crocs received a 6X3 retail space during the Ironman Expo. Crocs sold 357 units in 1 day which was a record for Gigi who was doing all the selling! Crocs had a video advertisement running during the race day on a jumbo screen in front of finishers chute and VIP viewing area. Crocs also received copy and our logo on the Ironman website, in the official Ironman e-newsletter "Ironed-Out", on volunteer t-shirts, race posters and race program.
Crocs donated 30 pairs of Crocs to Ironman Port Macquarie - these were used as special prizes for the athletes - prizes were announced during the Carbo loading party. Crocs also donated promotional items for the Official Ironman Competitor race bags (thundersticks, key chains, hats, lip gloss, etc.) Crocs catalogues were included in all Crocs bags for every pair sold at the Crocs expo booth
PowerShot Great Aussie Road Trip
Crocs are an Official Product Sponsor for the Powershot Great Aussie Road Trip. In June 2008 the Power family embark on a trip around Australia in their collection of Crocs for all terrains! Greg Power is a professional photographer and father, Rachel Power is a business woman and mother and their two children Jasmine (5) and Jemma (3) are energetic and adorable. They hope to achieve the following on The Powershot Great Aussie Road Trip - to document an Australian family holiday through still photography; to photograph Australia’s unique landscape; to inspire people to see more of Australia and to get out of the holiday ‘comfort zone’; to seek an answer to “is customer service really better in small towns?”; to build a story and create the desire for the public to follow our journey; and to showcase some of Australia’s best products, services and locations for families and travelers.
